Bruno Gambone (Vetri sul Mare, 1936) followed in the footsteps of his father Guido, a well-established ceramist in the first half of the 1900s. After an apprenticeship under his father, Gambone started his artistic career with painting. In the 1960s, he held solo shows all over the world, bonding with friends such as Andy Warhol and Lucio Fontana. He came back to ceramics in 1969, after moving back to Florence to run the family company when his father passed away. His ceramics works are characterized by the use of earthy colors and archetypal, pure, primitive shapes.
